Strewing

I read an article http://www.livingmath.net/Articles/Strewing.html written by an unschooler about strewing, which I find essential in unschooling. She puts maps under a clear vinyl tablecloth to facilitate learning. I think that’s a fantastic idea and talked it over with DH while he was driving back to work from a lunch seminar. He added that it would be neat to use dry erase markers on it as well to illustrate or mark directions for trips, etc. I find that I’m bored with schoolish maps myself and am looking for something a little different (as always). ;)

I ran to Walmart tonight and purchased a cheap cloth tablecloth (to protect the wood table from the vinyl) and a clear vinyl overlay.
