It's the little things in life that drive me nuts. Check out this new product that I ran across today:
It's called "Squirt Baby Food Dispenser". First off, any seasoned mom will avoid ANY product that even hints of squirting, much less by placing it on the title. And any new mom should at least see that this starts out "squirt baby". I'm guessing a more appropriate name would be "Squirt Mom, Baby Food Dispenser". As if moms aren't squirted enough with baby food, they had to go and create an object that adds to the mess. How lovely.
Come on, invent something useful. Like a device that makes it impossible for a 16 month old to yank the hand towel off the bar for the 175,463rd time in the same day. I'm thinking one of those plastic baggie clips but only bigger...you know, towel sized...would do nicely.
They're so close right now...clips and towels in the same photo. WHY hasn't anyone come up with that yet?
So, your mission this weekend is to scour every store you enter for a device that will accomplish my goal. I know, it's school shopping season and everyone will be out if they have the pretty weather we do. 81F for a high today!!! Usually it's 100 or more this time of year. For the next week, it's all temps in the 80's. Must be all that global warming I keep hearing about. Anyway, if you find a device that's meant to keep my children from leaving the towels on the bathroom floor (apart from electroshock gadgets), I'd be willing to do something big. B-I-G big. I know I've seen one out there at some point but alas, my googling skills are shoddy today.
Have a great weekend and keep your eyes peeled!

A relatively large safety pin (or 2), loop the top of the towel over and pin in the middle (or maybe on each side). I do this with my towel in the kitchen (the one I use for wiping little stuff off my hands when washing would be overkill).
Hmmmm...I am still trying to decide if I think that first little device is a bad idea or not. I am out of practice but I just MIGHT have liked it! hee hee
I am not in creative mode right now or else I would try to help you with the towel issue-sounds like Mary has a fabulous idea! ;)
The first is horrible, it also looks uncomfortable.
About the towels, hmmm, I use clothes pins for al sorts of things like that, and if you don't mind them bunched up you could use those links that little ones have everywhere or shower curtain hooks.
Hmm, I am not sure about the hand towels, but I have heard of a solution for the bath towels for kids. My kids have a problem hanging up their towels on a regular bar, especially if it is to be done even a little neatly. I read somewhere to buy each child one of those large hooded towels and then put a hook within reach for each child to hang his/her towel on. I thought it was a good idea - I have yet to implement it! Good Luck! :)
what about the hand towels with the crochet top and a button... hmmm do you know what I mean??? if not I'll suss out a pic.
like this but hand towels not tea towels...

These might work http://creamerchronicles.blogspot.com/2010/06/hand-towel-love.html
How about using a hole in the middle of the towel (sew around it of course so it doesn't rip) and then pulling it around the towel holder. Kind of like they do with scarves.

I have that spoon and it is amazing! It's so great to have on the go with my little one, with the food already in it, and it comes with a cap so I can pop it in the fridge when done. It doesn't squirt at all. :)
I so want that spoon! What is it called? Genius!
Hello! I have used the following "Smart-Fit Button" to solve just that problem:

I bought this 8-pack at the DOLLAR TREE. (Yes I paid one dollar and it's enough for two homes.)
Very simple... it's a button-shaped pin with a butterfly clutch on the back. Simple and IT WORKS. Pin one to each side of the towel just under the towel rack. 100% success rate when I've used these. I hope you like!

Wait, you think the spoon isn't a good idea? Lol, I thought it looked really practical.
I have used that spoon and it is wonderful. First off, there is no double dipping a saliva covered spoon into a container of baby food. Second, you can easily put on the cap and put the whole thing in the fridge. The picture is deceiving (the woman's hand is so small), so it is really easy to feed your baby with 1 hand. Much less messy when on the go.
Ok so I'm gonna trust a few of u that says it works. Does anyo know how much they are
Where do you get them??
$9.99 at bedbathandbeyond.ca. And I've seen them at Baby specialty stores. I got one as a gift & thought it was brilliant! My baby just started solids & I'm excited to try it! I'm glad others are saying it works well!

I agree! The only thing I don't like is that if the food has any tiny chunks whatsoever, it gets plugged & then comes shooting out. I wish the hole was a little bigger.
I've been using it for a couple weeks now & it's amazing! Here's why:
- It's so much less messy than a spoon/jar.
-The spoon cap stays on well.
- It's great for travel because of the cap and the fact that it doesn't leak from the seam between the spoon head & container and won't leak in your diaper bag.
- There's no double dipping or carrying slobber into the food,
- It's easy to clean.
-You can put the cap on & throw the whole thing in the fridge or cooler if baby doesn't finsh.
- It holds a good amount.
- Even my hubby loves using it!
There are only 2 small things about it that I dislike. The first is that the hole is super tiny so if there are remotely any chunks at all, it gets clogged.
The second is that I wish the spoon was on an angle in regards to the container part...like those angled baby bottles with the elbow, you know? Cuz it's really hard to get the last couple spoonfuls out since the food sinks to the bottom wall & not towards the hole.
